Privacy Policy

Ofuda is a visual editor for creating your own now playing widget for your stream overlay. It runs on your computer, and everything you make stays there. An Ofuda account is optional: you can use the whole app without one. This page explains, in plain terms, what Ofuda keeps, where, and why.
Who runs Ofuda
Ofuda is an independent project run by kiyoshi.dev. For any question about this policy or your data, write to ofuda@kiyoshi.dev.
What stays on your computer
These are stored only on your own device and are never sent to the Ofuda project:
- Your designs, elements and images, in Ofuda's data folder.
- What is playing. Ofuda reads the song, artist and cover from Windows' media controls to show them in your widgets. This stays between Ofuda and OBS on your computer.
- Audio levels for visualizers, measured from your computer's sound output. Ofuda never records or sends audio.
- Your settings and the fonts installed on your computer.
Ofuda runs a small local server so OBS can show your widgets. It only answers on your own computer (127.0.0.1) and cannot be reached from the internet.
Your Ofuda account
Only if you sign in. You sign in with Twitch or Discord; Ofuda has no passwords of its own. When you do, we store:
- From your Twitch or Discord profile: its ID, your username, your display name and the address of your profile picture. We do not receive your email address or your password, and Ofuda cannot read or post anything on Twitch or Discord for you.
- Your devices: for each computer you sign in on, its name as Windows reports it, when you signed in there and when it was last used. You see this list in your profile and can sign any device out.
- When the account was created.
To keep you signed in, Ofuda keeps a key on your computer, encrypted by Windows so only your Windows user can read it. Our server only stores a scrambled form of that key, which cannot be turned back into it.
While you sign in, a short-lived record links your browser to the Ofuda window that started the sign-in. It is deleted when you finish, and at the latest after ten minutes.
What the account is used for
To sign you in, show your name and picture in Ofuda, and let you manage your devices. Later versions of Ofuda will use it to sync your designs between your computers and to share designs with others; this page will say so, with what that stores, before any of it starts. We do not sell your data, and there is no advertising in Ofuda.
Server and logs
The account service runs on Cloudflare. For each request, Cloudflare records technical details such as the time, the address that was called, the result and connection data including the IP address. We use these logs only to find and fix problems, for example why a sign-in failed. They are deleted after three days. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Your account is kept until you delete it. A device that has not been used for six months is signed out automatically. When you delete your account, it is removed at once, with your sign-ins and devices. A copy can remain in Cloudflare's database backups for up to 30 days before it is erased for good.
Your rights
If you live in the EU, the UK or a place with similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete and take your data with you, to object to its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. In Ofuda, under your account and Profile and devices, you can:
- export everything stored about your account as a file;
- sign out any of your devices;
- delete your account and everything in it.
Your name and picture come from Twitch or Discord; change them there and they update the next time you sign in. For anything else, write to the address above.
Services Ofuda talks to
Each of these receives your IP address as part of the connection and handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Twitch or Discord, while you sign in with them, and when Ofuda loads your profile picture.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the account service.
- Google Fonts: widgets load web fonts from Google when they show, in Ofuda and in OBS.
Cookies
Ofuda and this website set no cookies and use no analytics or tracking.
Children
Ofuda is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Twitch and Discord require their users to be at least 13.
Not affiliated
Ofuda is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Twitch, Discord, OBS or Microsoft.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date. Changes that affect data you have already given us are also announced in Ofuda.
